Dear customers, friends and blog followers, in this article I am going to show you the basic steps for a clean installation of cPanel/WHM in the most simplified steps. What I will mention below is applicable to any VPS or dedicated server that runs CentOS 4.x/5.x, has minimum 512mb Ram and more than 4GB hard disk available. cPanel is, indeed, a powerful platform, but demanding as well in terms of resources.

cPanel is software that provide an interface to help website owners manage their sites (FTP, Email accounts, statistics), while WebHost Manager (WHM) automates server management tasks for server administrators. cPanel makes it very easy for the hosting company to give the client total control of their website without the requirement of providing full server access. cPanel has lots of advantages and disadvantages but we won’t go through them as it is not of this article’s focus.
