Junior System Engineer (NSHO202)

NetShop ISP, a fast-growing Web Hosting Provider with Datacenters in Cyprus, Malta, UK and Los Angeles, is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active individual to join the company's DevOps team for 1st-level NOC Support and hands-on experience/assistance on new technologies and high availability infrastructure setup conducted by the Company.

Job Description

• A Junior System Administrator serves as a direct point of contact for most customers and internal staff interaction

• This interaction includes receiving and resolving technical requests via Phone, e-mail and internal ticketing system, escalating alerts to appropriate personnel, performing network and infrastructure checks, shipping/receiving duties, rebooting servers and network devices, escorting vendors/customer in Company's data centers and troubleshooting basic server related matters (30% Windows Systems, 70% Linux Systems)

• The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting (systems, network) the Company's local and offshore Data Centers

• The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting remotely our 24x7x365 Data Centers (Cyprus, Malta, United Kingdom, Los Angeles)

• Knowledge of any other object oriented programming language


Job Responsibilities

• Escalate and communicate customer issues and network related alerts to Level-2 Engineers and/or Management as defined by our client's policies and escalation procedures

• Troubleshoot various issues such as internal questions/requests raised (password request, ticket investigation, researching vendor position), customer issues or questions, or issues our client is requesting a provider to take action on

• Respond to customer requests and provide consistent communication as defined by our client's agreements SLA

• Interact with Network Suppliers, Vendors, and Customers on a daily basis; opening tickets and performing follow up with external organizations on customer and other related issues

• Maintaining the company's Digital Asset Management for all Data Centers

Required Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of Linux Operating systems and Windows Server (2012, 2016 and above)

• Sound Communication Skills (both written and verbal)

• Ability to learn and retain information in a fast pace environment

• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task efficiently

• Ability to work independently and/or as a part of a team


Additional Qualifications

• Previous experience / familiar with Virtualization technologies

• Data Center Experience a plus

• Help Desk or Technical Support Experience a plus 

• Working knowledge in Server Equipment, Equipment and Hardware (mainly HP and DELL)

• Experience with Cisco Switches and Firewalls (hardware and/or software)

• Understanding of DNS
